The results of Condé Nast Traveler’s 2010 readers’ choice awards were released in New York this week, and for the fifth time in six years, Vancouver was named the “Best City in the Americas”.
We already knew that, but for those who have yet to visit our beautiful city, here’s another excuse!

Dish n’ Dazzle 2010 – the BC Hospitality Foundation’s Fall Fundraiser on Monday, October 25th will showcase 13 of BC’s top chefs (including yours truly) and 6 high calibre bartenders. The evening will be one full of fun and energy featuring an exciting Cocktail contest, food and wine bars, live music from “lesismore” and a celebration honouring unsung Hospitality Industry heroes. The event will run from 6.30pm-9.30pm on the stunning Summit level of the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Meet our Assistant General Manager Chad Mackenzie!
Chad got his start in 1990, training under the direction of Chef Donald Phillips. After numerous apprenticeships and graduating from Vancouver Community College’s Culinary Arts Program, Chad’s passion for the industry shifted focus. He has since helped open and establish a thriving clientele in a 60-seat fine dining restaurant; assisted in the opening of a 160-seat pub from the ground up; and has been the general manager of a 200-seat beachfront restaurant. Chad comes to us after working for The Fish House in Stanley Park, The Cannery, and SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts.
