This week’s Chef’s Choice: 10oz New York Steak topped with escargot butter and cabernet jus and served with truffle parmesan frites and roasted butternut squash.
The event featured 21 wineries pouring their Champagne, Sparkling and Still Wine. In addition to thousands of oysters and other delectable flavours, guests enjoyed live entertainment including well-known impersonators and alluring performances by the Candy Girl Cabaret Group.
We are pleased to announce that together we raised over $50,000 this year. We could not have done it without your support! We can’t wait for next year.
This week’s Chef’s Choice is a Joe Fortes Specialty dish: Salmon, halibut, and rock cod fish tacos blackened in Cajun spices and garnished with fresh cilantro and lime – served with pico de gallo, chive sour cream, housemade guacamole, and warm flour tortillas.
“Defence lawyer Terry Laliberte launched a successful appeal Wednesday. It was a marriage proposal to Janet Rhodes. The couple then attended the Slurp & Swirl wingding at Joe Fortes, a locale long known for inspiring relationships that fade at dawn. Helping the event benefit the Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society, not to mention the joint’s amorous reputation, Bob Skinner (a.k.a. Oyster Bob) added 2,500 bivalves to the five million he’s shucked there.”
As reported by Maclom Parry for The Vancouver Sun.
Our very own Executive Chef Scott Pratico received a plaque from and was recently inducted to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs - the prestigious international association dedicated to bringing together members worldwide who appreciate and share a mutual interest in cuisine, wine and fine dining.
Prior to the official ceremony, Chef Pratico gave the International Chaptre of the Chaine visiting Vancouver a guided tour of Granville Island, followed by a well-received luncheon at our sister restaurant Goldfish Pacific Kitchen.
